After waiting a long time, WhatsApp Pay has rolled out in India. And National Payment Corporation Of India (NPCI) has approved it.
But NPC has said that, 30 percent cap will be implemented on total payment volumes via every third party payment app from January 1, 2021.
Now, this service is only available for 20 million users and the messaging app has over 400 million users in India.
Officially supports 5 banks including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, SBI, and the Jio Payments bank. These banks enable WhatsApp to make UPI payments across the country. Now time to enjoy this new feature.

How to set up payment on WhatsApp
- First, update your application and open.
- Step 1: Tap the attach button in the box, where you usually type messages.
- Step 2: Choose the payment option and click on Accept and continue.
- Step 3: Add your bank account. You can only add a bank account that is linked to the same phone number, that you used to sign-up for WhatsApp. Select your desired bank and hit done.
- Step 4: Verify your debit card. (Click on continue) Verify your debit card information by entering the last six digits and the expiration date.
- Step 5: Set Up UPI PIN. Complete your set up by creating a personal UPI PIN. (You will be asked to enter this PIN every time you try to send money for security purposes.)
After completing these processes, you can send and accept money.
